CHRISTIAN LIFE :
Omezue Oyo was a devote Christian of Roman Catholic Faith, the sustenance and growth of which he very much supported. All through his life, Omezue Nicholas Egwu Oyo actively sought for and identified talented and intelligent youths he could help. He strongly believed the Christian teaching of being his brother’s keeper.
He use to say that “the joy of life is not based on how happy you are but on how others can benefit from your happiness” Thus, when he had succeeded in life, he did not throw away the ladder he use to climb to the top like him.
He knew he could not have gotten to where he was in life without education, so he gave numerous award of scholarship even up to university level, our thanks should go to him. That magnanimity did not stop with Afikpo, it was extended to indigenes of Abakiliki senatorial zone and some other state. He did not stopped there, he was provided employment opportunities to many ebonyians.
Omezue derived so much joy ,love and deep sense of inner peace and contentment wherever he was able to help anyone in need. Anonymous person once said that “The tears and cries of people created holes in his pocket for he must do Omezue. He believed there must be a way cut to give, to endorse, to employ, to give and give again so that bars will dry “He was philanthropies par excellence.
He believed that love of your neighbor is whatever you do for the feeble, the weak, the hungry, the fatherless, the widow, the tired, the confused, the degraded, the lonely, the despondent, the poor, and the needy to put in the Hallowell place of honor. When people heard of father’s death some of those widows asked, ASI NAA IHE MERINI.GBEEP, OWNU ISI NAI MERI GI EGAA?
Quietly, selflessly and humbly, Omezue went about life doing what he could to alleviate the burdens of the less privileged that left behind landmark achievements in the sand of time, making him one of the greatest philanthropist and kindness walking on two legs.
That was him that was Omezue Nicholas Egwu Oyo as we knew him.
Thank you Father of All, thank you for this wonderful legacy you have left behind that have left all walking tall.
Adieu until we meet again.
